Come see Brian Boggs at the September 2nd meeting:
He will be speaking on THAI Massage.

A quick reminder to all: Tuesday is election day. FSMTA is backing KEN GOTTLIEB.
He is committed to fighting for comprehensive tax reforms - to reduce your property taxes by 40% through common sense initiatives. He is determined to fund our public schools and eliminate the FCAT. He will work hard to reduce our homeowner and windstorm insurance rates so that Floridians can afford to stay in their homes. He is experienced in Broward County and State of Florida laws and has walked door to door for the past year and a half listening to your needs. He is a large proponent of massage and hopes to help us in that area with good solid laws.
Remember, please vote for KEN GOTTLIEB on Tuesday, August 26th

Important Notice Regarding Our Monthly Meetings !!!

The meetings at Imperial Point Hospital have been moved from the cafeteria to the auditorium.
From the cafeteria, go straight up the corridor and its on the right.
Please take note.
FSMTA FYI - Does the BOMT have your correct address Renewal Information for the Board of Massage Therapy?
A notice for renewal is mailed to each licensee at the last address provided to the Board. Failure to receive this notification does not relieve the licensee of the responsibility of meeting the renewal or continuing education requirements.
Q: Can I fax my change of address to you or may I leave my change of address on your voice mail or can you take a change of address over the telephone?
A: Because of recent changes in Florida law, you now have the option of submitting your change of address using our _electronic change of address form_ (http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/chng_address.htm) or you may write a letter requesting the change that includes the type of address to be changed and faxing it to (850) 487-9626. You will need your current license number and the control number from the license for security reasons. Remember a change of location for a massage establishment requires the completion of an application and submission of the appropriate fees.

Dear Chapter Members,
The following two vendors:
Books of Discovery and Massage Warehouse have been most generous in donating many items to our chapter. We’d like to acknowledge them with special appreciation !!!
We ask that you take a few moments to return the goodwill and make a thorough visit to their websites to learn more of their products & services.
The links are provided below.
Books of Discovery
You could say that Books of Discovery was born out of frustration. As a bodywork student and later as an instructor, I was disheartened by the lack of information available at the time about palpatory anatomy. That began to change in October 1994. It was 3 a.m., and not being able to sleep, I pulled out a pad of paper and scribbled something about a book that "connected together the dots of the body." Before falling back to sleep I wrote, "The Body's Road Map."
Over the next three years the book began to take shape. A lucky break came when one of my students, Robin Dorn, turned in an exam that was illustrated with beautiful drawings. I designed the book to meet the needs of all bodywork modalities, whether it is physical therapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, sports medicine, chiropractic, yoga, or Pilates. Trail Guide grew quickly to become a required or highly recommended text in many bodywork schools throughout the world.
Over the past six years I have often remarked that we offer more than "how to find muscles, bones, and more." Our books and other products help practitioners locate structures so they can apply their skills accurately. It will always make us feel proud knowing that a mother in Portland, Maine or an athlete in Sarasota, Florida or even a bricklayer in Liverpool, England is receiving quality bodywork from a practitioner who has benefited from our products.
Yours In Good Health, Andrew Biel
Massage Warehouse
Everybody knows what it feels like to be stressed, tight and in pain. It happens quite naturally. No talent required to get it just right, is there?
Now what about a cure for all that stress, tightness and pain? Is there a good way to combat the stressful effects of our daily lives without having to resort to the traditional medical approach of visiting your doctor and taking medication to manage a body's response to the world around us?
We know that there is. Massage Therapy works for many people to interrupt the body's pathological responses to too much stress, tightness and pain. It's natural, has no negative side affects and works for a great number of people to improve their day-to-day lives.
It is from our core belief in Massage Therapy that our passion of supporting the growth of therapeutic massage in general, and supporting the Massage Therapist specifically, stems from.
Massage Therapists have a need for a trusted and reliable partner that provides quality massage products at fair prices and can deliver them in a timely manner-in addition to current and detailed information that keeps Massage Therapists informed and knowledgeable.
Massage Warehouse knows massage. It is our mission to help as many therapists directly and by so doing help as many people as possible who are stressed, tight and in pain recognize the measurable improvements the skilled hands of a massage therapist can provide.
We welcome you to Massage Warehouse! We truly want your experience with us to be fun and educational. We are dedicated to helping you make informed decisions about our products to insure that you are 100% confident in your purchase from us. Our first responsibility is to provide high quality products that have our seal of approval and that you can trust. We love happy customers, and we haven't found a better way to accomplish this than to start off with insuring that you'll receive great products from us. Here's what else is important to us and what Massage Warehouse is about:
- · · We live by the philosophy that our customers are like family, treating each one with respect, compassion and care.
- · · We treat our employees with respect, loyalty and fairness. Their commitment is key to Massage Warehouse's success.
- · · We are active in the massage community, helping to promote the growth of massage, and we conduct business in an ethical and responsible manner.
- · We sincerely thank you for visiting our site and our company and hope that you give us the opportunity to impress you with our smiles, our service and our products.
Mad Mitch Rudin
came up with a terrific idea last year to facilitate communication to all members of the chapter. - AN EMAIL LIST !
His idea is to collect everyone’s information through an online form and then make use of your email
addresses to send out email notices to members in lieu of a physical mailing. Kudos to Mitch for setting this up.
Please participate ASAP and contribute your information. This will be extremely helpful in fostering instantaneous communication.
Just click the following link and fill in the online form. It will only take a minute of your time and would be greatly appreciated by Mitch and the Board.
BrowardFSMTAEmail
PLEASE NOTE: Your privacy will be 100% respected. Your email addresses will not be sold or distributed. This will only be used by the Chapter Board for communicating directly with you. Thank you.
One quick update:
The email list web page is up and running and has it's own domain name.
Click: BrowardFSMTAemail.com to be added to the list or update your listing.
It is for the email list only. www.BrowardFSMTA.com is still the main chapter website.
Visit both and spread the word. Thanks,
Mad Mitch
SPECIAL NOTE Broward FSMTA Wishes To Express Its Heartfelt Gratitude These are some of the Great People we met at the convention. It is from their generous donations that we get our raffle items. We hope that you will click on their links and visit their websites. There are many great items to see.
